Professional Learning

State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs) are State Board approved credit. Clock hours are earned by attending professional development activities approved by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE).  These hours can be used for renewal of certificates and licenses issued by the MDE, Office of Professional Preparation Services.  SCECH credit can be earned by attending and /or participating in Professional Development Programs and certain Non-Traditional Programs.

***PLEASE NOTE*** Only state-approved SCECH training counts toward certificate renewal. 


Traditional Programs — 
State Approved (Conferences & Workshops)
In order to count toward your SCECHs, the program must meet the following criteria:
•  Relate to Professional Development
•  3-clock hour presentation/speaking engagement  
•  15-minute break
